Good news! I am going to be teaching a workshop on beaded knitting on Sunday 7th
October at Stag & Bow in Forest Hill, London SE23.
Using beads in your knitting can be a great way to add colour, texture and design interest in an endless variety of ways.
Knitting with beads is very easy when you know how, and once you have learned the methods in this class, you will be able to add beads to anything you knit, enabling you to make your knits completely unique.
The class will show the various methods of adding beads in the process of knitting. You will then have the chance to start a small item using materials supplied – or your own if preferred.
We will discuss the types of yarn and beads that are most suitable to use; and placement, colour, size and design of the beads. We will then plan a design for a small item using graph paper.
Finally, choosing your beads and preferred method we will start knitting – it could be a purse, headband or wristwarmer – for you to finish at home.
There will also be some bead knit history! Go to the Stag & Bow website for more information and to book a place.
