As regular readers will have noticed – I love a wrap cardi! I also love a cropped cardi, and the latest design of mine to appear in The Knitter magazine ( Issue 171) is both wrapped and cropped.
For those who think that a cropped knit can only be worn by the young and slim, well I’m neither of those any more (I was once!), but I do like loose dresses with an empire-line waist, and cropped knits are perfect worn with these.
Elinor is knitted with a simple rib, but the finishing touch is added with a bell stitch at the end of both sleeves.. This lovely 3D stitch is a favourite of mine.
Actually the model in the photos must be tall, with long arms, because the textured cuff is meant to finish around the knuckles (it did on me!).
The cardi is knitted using Cascade Aran weight (100% wool at 200m per 100g skein). The yarn comes in lots of gorgeous colours.
