For a long time now I’ve been meaning to design a new collection of accessories – and now I’ve done two!
As visitors to this website may notice from reading the Commissions section of my Design Services page, in 1980s & 90s I collaborated with a hat company – Fred Bare Headwear -designing and producing knitted hats. This was an enjoyable way of trying new design ideas in a small project, so I have long been wanting to return to this.
What I also like about accessories is that they are a great way of using up leftover yarn when knitting a larger item. So on my new patterns I have written exact weight quantities taken to knit the samples. This way those odd bits of leftover yarn that knitters always have can be weighed to see whether there is enough to use!
