Cartwright accessories
Cartwright sweater was a garment I designed for The Knitter magazine in 2018. I was pleased with the design and the mix of stitches – a 3-colour tweed and a monochrome fair-isle pattern – but was surprised at just how popular the pattern has been since I released it as a single PDF.
In fact I then designed an updated version (Cartwright2022), but had to find a replacement yarn for the discontinued original. This new yarn – Blacker Swan 4ply – was so gorgeous that when I had some left over from knitting the sweater sample I decided to design a few small accessories. I like the idea of providing patterns for small items as a way of using up yarn left over when knitting a garment, so have given precise yarn amounts for each item.
I’ve finally managed to put the three patterns together in an ebook, downloadable from Ravelry. The beanie, armwarmers and mitts all feature the same simple fair-isle patterns used in the sweater, which is given as a chart in the pattern instructions. Each piece has instructions for 2 sizes.
