Wrapover Cardigan
Inspired by the 18th century short jacket, this classic wrap cardigan is cropped, and would look great worn over an Empire line, high-waisted dress, or as part of a layered outfit.
Knitted in a beautiful, soft alpaca mix yarn, it is a modern twist on the classic ballet-wrap.
Yarn:
The original sample was knitted using 2 ends of a laceweight yarn: Rowan ‘Fine Lace’ (80% baby suri alpaca, 20 % extra fine merino 400m/437yd – 50g) in Antique 921
(June 2019 – I re-knitted the cardi in red 4ply Rowan Finest as seen in the images. I also added an optional lace panel at the back and down the sleeves, which are included in the pattern)
